Invertebrates

Believe it or not, there are more invertebrate animals on the planet, both in number and in number of species, than there are animals with a backbone! Introduce your students to some of the unique invertebrates that live in the sea with these Explorer Series. Each one includes a short, narrated video, interesting facts about the animal, and a set of discussion questions to help reveal students’ prior knowledge and get them talking about the content. Introduce these videos in your lessons about living and nonliving things, animals, biodiversity, biology, taxonomy or as an opportunity to compare and contrast the similarities and differences of marine and terrestrial invertebrates. These Explorer Series can also provide the motivation your students need to enhance their writing skills as they create their own rich narratives about life as a particular invertebrate in the great big ocean.
